Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) has responsibility for providing Basic Life Support skills and for assisting the EMT-Paramedic in the delivery of pre-hospital patient care for neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in accord with Act 37, rules and regulations, PA DOH EMS Protocols and regional and GVH policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma/GED required.
Completion of an approved Emergency Vehicle Operators course required.
Possess a valid PA driver's license required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated written communication skills required.
Strong verbal communication and listening skills required.
Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills required.
Competency in the use of a variety of computer hardware and software systems required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
EMT, certified upon hire, required.
Driver's license - PA, upon hire, required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
PHTLS certification upon hire preferred.
