Responsibilities

Under general direction of the Director of Quality, the Quality Improvement Coordinator will have a strong background and knowledge of all core measures and quality indicators. The Quality Coordinator will be responsible for all core measures and quality indicators, including patient safety indicators and hospital-acquired infections, The Leapfrog Group, complications and mortalities, to ensure the accuracy of publicly reported clinical information. This will be completed through intensive chart analysis, interdisciplinary collaboration and process improvement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily case review/monitoring, chart review, data management, process improvement and education to the quality team and hospital staff. The role works in collaboration with the physician champions, medical staff and hospital leadership to identify quality initiatives, metrics and projects.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and over 3 to 5 years of significant relevant experience in a healthcare setting or related environment required.
  • BSN and over 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting or related environment preferred.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, set and accomplish objectives in a timely manner required.
  • Strong presentation skills for a variety of audiences required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills leading to ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts required.
  • Project management skills required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Familiarity with computer programs for statistics and data display required.
  • Ability to work independently within established parameters required.


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CPHQ upon hire preferred.
