The Cancer Care Navigator shall be responsible for ensuring that patients receive optimal and timely education, treatment and support. The navigator facilitates necessary appointments and counseling and supports patients undergoing diagnostic studies and treatment. The Cancer Care Navigator shall maintain a collaborative working relationship with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive appropriate high-quality coordinated care. The navigator will also assist with cancer-related screening and education activities. The Cancer Care Navigator will assume the role of "Cancer Conference Coordinator," "Oncology Clinical Research Coordinator" and "Penn Cancer Network Referral Coordinator." In the Oncology Clinical Research Coordinator capacity, under the direction of the Medical Director, the navigator shall participate in the development and management of oncology protocols, clinical trials and prevention trials. The navigator is responsible for protocol management and assisting physicians in enrolling and monitoring patients placed on research protocols.
