Responsibilities
Under general direction, the Cardiac Ultrasound Technician will operate the echocardiology lab in the Cardiology Department, obtaining ordered studies, doing preliminary reading, processing reports and paperwork. The Cardiac Ultrasound Technician will assure that assessment and care are appropriate to the age of patients served: adolescents, adults and geriatrics. The Cardiac Ultrasound Tech schedule is:
This position is 80 hours biweekly. The hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm with a Saturday and on-call rotation of every 5 weeks. This position has a holiday rotation. The location will be in the hospital and in the cardiology office on campus behind the hospital 3 days a week.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Vocational diploma/graduate of an accredited cardiovascular training program.
- 1 to 3 years of experience required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer – certified or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – certified upon hire required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 2 weeks of hire preferred.
