Grand View Health is a member of the Penn Cancer Network, an affiliate of Penn Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery, and an affiliate of the Penn Trauma Network, partnered with Penn Medicine to provide advanced neurological services, including tele-stroke and tele-neurology care.


Under general direction of the manager, the Cashier performs a variety of office and clerical duties. The duties of the Cashier are related to inpatient and outpatient billing, charges and payments received for hospital services and miscellaneous items. The essential functions of the Cashier are:

Essential Functions:
  • Issues receipts for cash, checks and credit cards. Prepares daily bank deposit for monies received.
  • Controls and stores in-house patient valuables and daily deposits from other hospital departments in the safe located in the cashier office.
  • Controls, records and disburses petty cash to authorized hospital personnel.
  • Reviews daily discharges and enters discharge information into the in-house computer system in order to update the census.
  • Processes adjustments for telephone and television charges when appropriate.
  • Records all transactions in a clear and accurate manner to provide for the efficient retrieval of information in order to collect monies due in a timely manner.
  • Performs other clerical tasks that may include calls to patients offering charity, calls to physician offices for diagnosis, calls to patient for correct addresses, opening and sorting office incoming mail, and assisting with newborn medical assistance applications as may be assigned.

Schedule: Part-time, every Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, every Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm


  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • Ability to listen to others required.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills required.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
