Full Time, Days / Evenings - 7am-7:30pm, every other weekend & every other holiday

Under the direction of the professional staff, the Clinical Assistant performs certain non-complex duties related to patient care and functioning of the unit. The Clinical Assistant functions to support and assist the staff in the delivery of patient care to varied age groups, while providing a calm, caring and clean environment. Responsibilities may include:

  • Performing vital signs, including use of automatic blood pressure (BP) maching as directed by nursing staff.
  • Assisting with or providing basic nursing care in order to help the nurse meet the activities of daily living for the patient.
  • Maintaining safe patient environment.
  • Assisting other members of healthcare team to deliver safe, appropriate and quality patient care.
  • Responding to emergency situations within the scope of training and practice.
  • Transferring and moving all patient age groups via wheelchair, bed or stretcher to appropriate place in hospital.
  • Answering call bells and responding to patient requests as determined by the scope of their practice.
  • Acting as a patient advocate to ensure safe, appropriate and quality patient care.



  • High school diploma/GED required.



  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to recognize patient needs and respond appropriately.
  • Service-oriented.
  • Ability to listen to others.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.

  • Respects patient/hospital equipment and is cognizant of the cost of supplies and equipment.


  • Nursing Assistant, certified upon hire, preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), upon hire, company-provided, in two weeks.
