Responsibilities

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center, including, but not limited to, the use of organizational skills; leadership; and planning, implementing, evaluating and providing patient care. The Clinical Coordinator will perform these tasks through the use of hospital and nursing standards. The Clinical Coordinator's functions are as follows:

Essential Functions Include:

• Providing case management to a group of patients, providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management.
• Organizing and prioritizing clinical responsibilities. Providing direct supervisor to clinical staff.
• Collaborating with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center physicians, Program Director and Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
• Consistently looking at current processes and procedures, and identifying and implementing areas of improvement while adhering to HIPAA, JCAHO, DOH, hospital and DCS requirements.
• Engaging in staff development, providing general in-services and individual instruction and orientation. Providing staff recognition through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
• Collaborating with Program Director in coordination of the Center's objectives from a budgetary and financial perspective.
• The Clinical Coordinator is accountable for healing outcomes in the Wound Center, which includes clinical practices and patient satisfaction leading to the success of the Wound Care Center.
• Attending 40-hour, accredited intro to Wound Management and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy course in order to function as Hyperbaric Chamber Operator in the event coverage is needed. Maintaining all competencies required.
