Grand View Health is a member of the Penn Cancer Network, an affiliate of Penn Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery, and an affiliate of the Penn Trauma Network, partnered with Penn Medicine to provide advanced neurological services, including tele-stroke and tele-neurology care.


The Clinical Nurse Educator provides staff education for professional, technical and ancillary personnel in the Nursing departments. The Clinical Nurse Educator provides orientation for new staff, in-service education and continuing education programs while serving as a resource. The Clinical Nurse Educator is administratively responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating Pennsylvania State Nurse Association (PSNA) continuing education activities by Grand View Health.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assesses the education and skill needs of Nursing department personnel for their proper level (Manager, RN, LPN,CA, QA, C&QA, Patient Transporter, MT).
  • Provides both formal and informal educational opportunities for staff and management.
  • Facilitates and coordinates a yearly learning-needs assessment as a guide for supplying educational programs or skill sessions.
  • Serves as a nurse planner and is a permanent planning committee member for all PSNA CEU activities of the hospital.
  • Participates in the counseling of nursing staff when such counseling applies to clinical skills and educational endeavors.
  • Evaluates progress of orientees to ensure competency by direct observation, consultation with the preceptor and written evaluation based on competency statements, skill lists and written tests.
  • Participates in quality management and standards of care activities.
  • Guides ,anagers and staff in making clinical decisions based on clinical literature and research findings.

Schedule: Per diem, varying hours and days


  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing and over 3 to 5 years of nursing experience required.
  • Master''s degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Ability to listen to others required.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills required.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills required.
  • Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion required.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.

  • Registered Nurse in PA – licensed, upon hire, required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire preferred.
