Grand View Health is a member of the Penn Cancer Network, an affiliate of Penn Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery, and an affiliate of the Penn Trauma Network, partnered with Penn Medicine to provide advanced neurological services, including tele-stroke and tele-neurology care.
Under general direction of the Department Manager, the Clinical Specialist provides all in-service training programs and other educational events related to the Respiratory Therapy department. In addition, the Clinical Specialist serves as the clinical instructor for Respiratory Therapy students according to Gwynedd Mercy College (GMC) guidelines to ensure safe patient care. In the absence of the Manager, the Clinical Specialist will be administratively in charge of clinical activities. Provides approved respiratory care services to neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Clinical Specialist is also involved in the education of patients in regards to smoking cessation, disease management and home respiratory equipment.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree from a respiratory therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) preferred.
Associate's degree from a respiratory therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). This requirement is waived for individuals who were licensed prior to 2002.
Over 1 to 3 years as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Ability to listen to others required.
Demonstrated written communication skills required.
Strong verbal communication and listening skills required.
Possesses familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine (or PA State Board of Osteopathic Medicine) as a Respiratory Therapist upon hire required.
