Director of HIM, Health Information Management

Responsibilities
Under general direction of the Vice President and CFO, the Director of HIM provides oversight and coordination of all services and functions of the Health Information Management Service. The Director of HIM ensures the availability and recoverability of data needed for patient care and administrative reporting and planning.The responsibilities of the Director of HIM include, but are not limited to, oversight of chart completion, image processing, MPI, release of information, patient portal, core measures, PHC4, forms management, post-discharge audits and appeals, transcription, coding, abstraction, records management and HIPAA privacy operations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree in Health Records Administration, Health Information Management or similar field of study required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare information management required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in management or supervisory role.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- RHIA or RHIT required.
