The EEG Tech performs EEGs utilizing the appropriate equipment for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning for patient care. The EEG Tech demonstrates competency in all skills necessary to care for all types of patients. The EEG Tech performs all types of EEG procedures involving emergency room patients, surgical patients, inpatients and outpatients. Good technical and communication skills required. Ability to work with all levels from staff to physicians. Ability to triage quickly in a fast-paced work environment. EEG experience required as well.

Job Duties Include:
  • Possessing current knowledge of EEG technology in order to provide quality patient care services.
  • Selecting appropriate equipment and supplies needed to perform each procedure in order to provide continuity of care.
  • Selecting proper technical factors according to established protocol and study requested in order to produce quality exams.
  • Positioning the patient according to established protocol in order to provide optimum diagnostic information.
  • Assisting staff physicians as requested in order to promote continuity of care.
  • Performing quality control on all completed studies prior to submission for interpretation in order to ensure optimum information and completes exams in EMR.
  • Ensuring equipment viability through performing established equipment quality control.
  • Performing required quality control procedures on routine basis in order to ensure equipment viability.
  • Communicating procedural instructions to all patients prior to examination in order to ensure patient comprehension.
  • Reviewing the daily patient schedule in order to maximize efficiency and minimize patient waiting time.
  • Practicing proper infection control.
Schedule: Per Diem, 24 hours every 6 weeks. Holiday and call rotation required based on department needs



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Over 6 months to 1 year of EEG experience preferred.



  • Ability to make quality, independent decisions.

  • Service-oriented.
  • Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities.



  • EEG certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
