EEG Technologist, Per Diem

Per Diem, Evenings - Non-Committed - 24 hours, if available, every 6 weeks. Holiday & call rotation required based on department needs.

Responsibilities

Grand View Health is hiring a per diem EEG Technologist to join our new Health Pavillion opening in Sellersville this spring, preferably with at least one year of experience, but open to training. The EEG Technologist performs electroencephalograms (EEGs) utilizing the appropriate equipment for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning for patient care. The EEG Technologist demonstrates competency in all skills necessary to care for all types of patients, performing all types of EEG procedures involving ER patients, surgical patients, inpatients and outpatients. Good technical and communication skills required. Ability to work with all levels from staff to physicians. Ability to triage quickly in a fast-paced work environment. EEG experience required as well.

Job Duties Include:
  • Possessesing current knowledge of EEG technology in order to provide quality patient care services.
  • Selecting appropriate equipment and supplies needed to perform each procedure in order to provide continuity of care.
  • Selecting proper technical factors according to established protocol and study requested in order to produce quality exams.
  • Positioning the patient according to established protocol in order to provide optimum diagnostic information.
  • Assisting staff physicians as requested in order to promote continuity of care.
  • Performing quality control on all completed studies prior to submission for interpretation in order to ensure optimum information and completes exams in EMR.
  • Ensuring equipment viability through performing established equipment quality control.
  • Performing required quality control procedures on routine basis in order to ensure equipment viability.
  • Communicating procedural instructions to all patients prior to examination in order to ensure patient comprehension.
  • Reviewing the daily patient schedule in order to maximize efficiency and minimize patient waiting time.
  • Practicing proper infection control.

Schedule: Per diem, 24 hours every 6 weeks. Holiday and call rotation required based on department needs.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Over 6 months to 1 year of EEG experience or training preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • An EEG (ABRET) certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
