Food Service Aide
Part Time, Days / Evenings, Non-Benefit Eligible - 4:30pm-7:30pm, 5 shifts/week including every other weekend

Under the supervision of the department managers, the Food Service Aide performs a variety of routine tasks in the kitchen, tray line and related areas according to standard practices and procedures in order to maintain a safe, efficient and sanitary work environment. The Food Service Aide is responsible for filling all food/beverage requisitions received from patient service areas in an accurate and timely manner in order to assist in maintaining quality patient care. Essential functions may include:
  • Assembling patient trays according to department standards.
  • Delivering patient trays according to department standards.
  • Serving patients, employees and visitors in cafeteria.
  • Addressing customers', patients', employees' and co-workers' concerns with dignity and respect.
  • Acknowledging customers, patients, employees and co-workers and responding quickly to their needs.
  • Identifying and utilizing established portion control standards on patient trays to ensure a clinically accurate and cost-effective meal service.
  • Filling all food/beverage requisitions received from patient service areas in an accurate and timely manner in order to assist in maintaining quality patient care.
  • Stocking service areas with supplies according to predetermined par levels to facilitate an uninterrupted flow of service.
  • Completing assigned sanitation duties on a daily basis according to departmental schedule and procedure to provide a clean and healthy work environment and a safe product.
  • Practicing safe food-handling procedures at all times to prevent foodborne illness and provide a safe product.
  • Preparing cold food items following standardized recipes in order to maintain a quality product.
  • Washing and cleaning dishes as needed to prevent foodborne illness.
  • Attending training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Participating in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Reporting all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Complying with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Treating all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
