Head Athletic Trainer - Sports Medicine Center
Full Time, Day Position with Evening Event Times
Sellersville, PA 18960

Responsibilities

The ideal Athletic Trainer candidate will feel comfortable working with middle school and high school athletes and coaches. Experience working as an Athletic Trainer.

Provide athletic training services at local area schools with middle and high school student-athletes under the direction of the team physician in accordance with state athletic training practice act. Foster and maintain strong relationships between sports medicine team, schools, youth organizations, athletes and providers.

General Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, rehabilitation and reconditioning of student-athlete injuries.
  • Educate athletes, coaching staff and parents on various aspects of injury prevention, first aid and strength and conditioning.
  • Conduct taping and other pregame/pre-practice preparation.
  • Communicate confidentially with student-athletes, parents, athletic directors, coaches and physicians regarding student-athletes/ playing status and ability to return to competition or practice.
  • Communicate with the Head Athletic Trainer on a regular basis.
  • Attend and provide medical response coverage for home athletic events.
  • Refer athletes to appropriate physicians and specialists.
  • Perform administrative duties, including the maintenance of injury reports for student-athletes. Establish an Emergency Action Plan for all sports and venues.
  • Assist with pre-participation medical/orthopedic screenings.
  • Regularly use therapeutic modalities therapeutic/rehabilitation equipment, first aid supplies, standard athletic training supplies and possibly a golf cart/gator.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS in healthcare-related field.
  • Pennsylvania Athletic Training license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • NATA BOC certification.
  • Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office and internal computer systems.
