Responsibilities
Under the direction of the professional nurse, the Home Health Aide assists the patient in the home setting with personal care activities and incidental duties that the patient requires. Demonstrates competent knowledge and skills to ensure assessment of care is appropriate to the age of patients served: adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
This position is 32 hours biweekly and benefit-eligible. Hours are 8am-4:30pm with a potential schedule of Tuesday and Friday; however, should be open to other days. This will also have 1 out of 4 weekends.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Over 1 to 3 years as an Aide required.
- Successful completion of formal training program with required 75 hours of training and 16 hours of supervised practical or clinical training required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills required.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills required.
- Effective interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work as part of a team required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills required.
- Competency in the use of a variety of computer hardware and software systems required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
- Driver's license – PA, upon hire, required.
- Automobile insurance/registration upon hire required.
