Medical Lab Technician/Technologist - Microbiology - Laboratory
Part Time, Days, Benefits-Eligible - Mon-Fri, 6:30am-7am start time, every 3rd weekend

Responsibilities
The Medical Lab Technician/Technologist demonstrates competent knowledge and skills to ensure quality results. Fully functions in Microbiology, reading plates and familiar with Cepheid PCR testing.Essential Functions:
- Receives assignments according to the established departmental procedures and plans. Organizes and prioritizes work duties to accomplish daily objectives.
- Performs testing procedures and related work according to established protocols and standards with minimal technical and/or data entry error in order to report results to the requesting party.
- Operates equipment and works with highly technical instrumentation according to established procedures and protocols in order to ensure the accuracy of test results.
- Performs equipment maintenance and repair according to operator's manuals in order to facilitate testing procedures and avoid downtime.
- Assays appropriate controls, stands and other quality control material according to protocol in order to maintain the testing environment.
- Performs venipunctures according to established protocols and procedures so as to provide the best possible specimen for analysis.
- Ability to work independently.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Credentialed by an agency approved by the National Commission for Health Certifying Agencies (NCHCA), i.e., ASCP, HEW, HCA, upon hire, preferred.
