Quality Assistant, Telemetry
Per Diem, Variable - Committed - Work a minimum of 24 hours (or 3 7.5-hour shifts) per 6-week schedule on home unit with at least one 7.5- to 12-hour shift being a weekend shift. Work 7.5 hours of holiday time per year on home unit (holiday time is defined as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day). The holiday time is at the discretion of the Department Manager based on the unit need.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Department Manager, Nursing Supervisor and/or RN, the Quality Assistant performs chart audits, answers the telephone and communicates information to the appropriate individuals and areas. The Quality Assistant will need telephone etiquette and organizational skills and be able to multitask and provide customer service. The Quality Assistant should have reporting skills, communication abilities and familiarity with medical terms.
Essential Functions:

Assists with communications between Department Manager, House Supervisor and unit staff regarding the 24-Hour Report, admissions, transfers and bed availability to operationalize department activities.

Answers phone and faxes requests for patient information and physician discharge instructions to primary care provider per HIPAA guidelines.

Organizes, maintains and updates departmental files and records (e.g., patient's clinical record, unit statistics, old records, etc.) in an accurate manner to provide for timely and efficient processing of information.

Assumes responsibility for ordering and restocking supplies necessary for efficient operation of the department within budgetary parameters.

Copies and faxes records in a prompt manner according to established medical records policy in order to fulfill requests from appropriate sources.
