Grand View Health is a member of the Penn Cancer Network, an affiliate of Penn Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery, and an affiliate of the Penn Trauma Network, partnered with Penn Medicine to provide advanced neurological services, including tele-stroke and tele-neurology care.

Responsibilities

The Radiologic Technologist performs imaging utilizing the appropriate equipment for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning with regards to patient care. The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates competency in skills necessary to care for patients served. The Radiologic Technologist must be competent to perform multiple types of imaging, including fluoro and X-ray, involving Emergency Room patients, surgical patients, inpatients and outpatients.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews the daily patient schedule in order to maximize efficiency and minimize patient waiting time.
  • Ensures proper identification and documentation of radiographic images.
  • Transfers patient safely to exam table and provides for patient safety by providing appropriate monitoring/visualization during exam.
  • Positions patient under X-ray machine, adjusts immobilization devices and affixes lead shields to protect unaffected areas.
  • Follows established protocols for cleaning, preparing and operating radiological equipment.
  • Provides hand-off report to other teammates that are accurate, concise and pertinent to the patient's condition and response to care.


Schedule: Per diem, committed, day/evening shift, 24 hours every 6 weeks, depending on department needs. Holiday and call rotation required. Saturday rotation required.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Vocational diploma from an AMA-approved radiologic technology program required.
  • Associate's degree from an AMA-approved radiologic technology program and over 1 to 3 years of experience as an Imaging Services Technologist preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Good technical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels from staff to physicians.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to triage quickly in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Certified Radiological Technologist required.
  • BLS required.
