The Registered Nurse on the Critical Care Unit assumes accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Grand View Health opened our new Hospital Pavilion with 52 private rooms designed to accommodate ICU or PCU levels of care, including the newest in-room technology that connects patients and family to caregivers and daily care plans.
Job Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives. Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.

Reports adverse events and "near misses" to appropriate management authority.

Implements policies, procedures and standards consistently in the performance of assigned duties.

Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures and devices and communicates the same to those in charge.

Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.

Fosters a healing environment for patients and families.

Assumes responsibility and authority for establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patient/family and creating an individualized plan of care. Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Integrates clinical reasoning and knowledge as the foundation for decision-making.

Balances patient's rights and organization's responsibilities in providing professional and ethical care.
The Critical Care Stepdown, in combination with the ICU, is a 26-bed acute care unit specializing in the care of stable but critically ill patients. Our goal is to provide transition-level care to patients who, while stable, still require a high degree of support.
This is a Special Pay Weekend Program, 3 out of 4 weekends, Friday and Saturday night, 7:00pm-7:30am, benefits offered.
