The Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Room is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine. The Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Room position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients, utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status. The Registered Nurse (RN) must have a highly diverse skill set, develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.

The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
• Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs.
• Implementing clinical nursing interventions.
• Having a highly diverse skill set.
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Provides care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short-stay to trauma.
• Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the state of practice.

Grand View Health has 21 beds in the ER plus 2 Trauma bays. We see patient ranging in age from newborn to geriatric.
