• The new Emergency Department with 30 treatment rooms, including 2 trauma bays.
• Easy access by vehicle and a helicopter pad on the roof.
• Waiting areas designed for privacy and comfort.

Under the general direction and guidelines of Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) standing orders and standards established through the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania, the Registered Nurse, RN in the Emergency Room is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine.

Essential Functions of the Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Room:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
• Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs.
• Implementing clinical nursing interventions.
• Having a highly diverse skill set.
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Evaluating, updating and revising the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Providing care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short stay to trauma.
• Administering medications in a safe manner consistent with the state of practice.

Schedule: 48 hours every 6-week schedule, 24 hours being weekend shifts. 16 hours of holiday time per year.
