The Registered Nurses, RN, in the PACU is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for patients served during the post-anesthesia phase and transfer to the receiving patient care unit. The Registered Nurse, RN, in the PACU collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes on discharge from the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit for the pediatric through geriatric-age patient. The Registered Nurse practices professional nursing by utilizing the nursing process and adheres to standards set forth in the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania and Grand View Health policies and procedures.
