The Registered Nurse, RN, Telemetry assumes accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients. The Registered Nurse, RN, Telemetry is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Job Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse, RN, Telemetry ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives. Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.

Reports adverse events and "near misses" to appropriate management authority.

Implements policies, procedures and standards consistently in the performance of assigned duties.

Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures and devices and communicates the same to those in charge.

Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.

Fosters a healing environment for patients and families

Assumes responsibility and authority for establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patient/family and creating an individualized plan of care. Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Integrates clinical reasoning and knowledge as the foundation for decision-making.

Balances patients' rights and organization's responsibilities in providing professional and ethical care.
The Telemetry Unit is a fast-paced, high-acuity, 42-all-private-bed unit. Certified by The Joint Commission in Stroke and Heart Failure. Nationally recognized by the American Heart Association for maintaining high quality metrics in the management of stroke, heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts a week, 7:00am to 7:30pm, 5 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule, every other holiday.
