Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Occupational Health Practice Administrator, the Registered Nurse, Workplace Health & Wellness is responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for patients and communicating/interacting with Workplace Health & Wellness corporate/company clients.
Job Responsibilities:

Coordinates and provides comprehensive occupational health services for prospective or current employees as contracted by the corporate/company clients at Workplace Health & Wellness. Services include post-offer health assessments, physical exams, medical surveillance, respirator medical clearance and fit testing, immunization programs, audiograms, vision screenings, drug/alcohol testing, workers' compensation injury care and case management. Services are available at our clinic location and on-site at the company's location by special request.

Demonstrates competency in the skills needed to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of care to the child, adolescent and geriatric patient.

Recognizes the patient's and company's lack of understanding relative to medical information and encourages an exchange of questions and ideas with healthcare providers at all levels in order to foster effective communication, allay fears and increase understanding of the medical situation.

Completes appropriate forms and obtains accurate information to be forwarded to appropriate agencies, i.e., MRO, lab, Health Department, company, etc., in order to provide these agencies with information required for an appropriate response to situations.

Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement or evaluate patient care plans.

Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.

Administers vaccines to patients and monitors patients for reactions or side effects.

Records patients' medical information and vital signs including, but not limited to, temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight.

Prepares patients for and assists with examinations or treatments. Performs vision screenings, urine drug screening, breath alcohol tests, respirator fit testing, pulmonary function testing, venipuncture and other tests/procedures as assigned.

Instructs individuals or employers on topics such as health education, and makes appropriate referrals.

Within the regulations for patient confidentiality, relates patient information to the hospital departments, physicians' offices and outside agencies in an effective manner in order to avoid any duplication of treatment or confusion regarding care given while at Workplace Health & Wellness.

Documents and monitors information that is required to ensure that issues that affect the patient, company, staff or department are addressed.

Communicates clearly and concisely all discharge instructions, work status and handout information needed for continued care of the patient after discharge.

Completes special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree in Nursing required.

Over 1 to 3 years of occupational health experience preferred.

BSN preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
-
Registered Nurse in PA – licensed, upon hire, required.

BAT certification within 1 year of hire required.
-
DOT urine drug screen collector certification within 1 year required.
-
COHC certification within 1 year of hire required.
