Grand View Health is a member of the Penn Cancer Network, an affiliate of Penn Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery, and an affiliate of the Penn Trauma Network, partnered with Penn Medicine to provide advanced neurological services, including tele-stroke and tele-neurology care.

Responsibilities

Grand View Health is looking for a part time night Emergency Room Registrar.

The Registrar Emergency Room main job duties are:
  • Schedules, greets, pre-registers and/or registers patients in a courteous and professional manner,
  • Verifies insurance benefits and check for authorization, pre-certification, physician order accuracy, and referral necessity.
  • Obtains patients signatures for required forms and collects patient financial responsibility when required.
  • Provides professional, quality customer service, timely resolution to customer problems, and coordination of services to all customers.
  • Communicates revenue cycle related issues to patients, physicians, physician office staff and other hospital colleagues.
  • Rotates into various areas of the patient access department including the Emergency Room and may work a variety of shifts.

Schedule: Part Time, 11:00pm-7:00am, includes every other weekend.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Over 1 to 3 years of patient access/registration, admissions, central schedule or call center experience required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality.
  • Service-oriented.
  • Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities.
  • Possesses familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Competency in the use of a variety of computer hardware and software systems.
  • Knowledge of health insurance plans and their policies and procedures.
