Surgical Technician First Assistant, Per Diem

Responsibilities
The Surgical Technician First Assistant to the surgeon during a surgical procedure carries out functions that will assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient. The intraoperative practice of the First Assistant is interdependent with the operating surgeon.Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Vocational diploma in surgical technology and over 1 to 3 years of experience required.
- Completion of a Surgical First Assistant course required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Strong verbal communication and listening skills required.
- Effective interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work as part of a team required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills required.

- Competency in the use of a variety of computer hardware and software systems required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Surgical Tech, certified upon hire, required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
