Responsibilities
The Surgical Technologist in Maternity functions as a member of the intraoperative team. The Surgical Technologist performs specific duties in preparation for surgical procedures and intraoperative care of the patient. The Surgical Technologist in Maternity maintains competency of skill to care for patients of all ages.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Over 1 year to 3 years of experience in hospital or surgery center in lieu of certification. required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated written communication skills.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills.
- Self-directed.
- Demonstrated problem solving-skills.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Surgical Tech, certified upon hire, required.
- BLS within 2 weeks of hire required.
