Responsibilities
The Surgical Technologist functions as a member of the surgical team. The Surgical Technologist performs specific duties in preparation for surgical procedures and intraoperative care of the patient.
The Surgical Technologist's job duties include:

Understanding and participating in the process of change, evaluating new ideas or concepts relative to advances in clinical technology or healthcare delivery system to enhance self and department growth and development.

Participating in staff development, in-services and continuous education conferences to maintain competency and expand knowledge.

Applying correct principles of sterile technique and monitoring the surgical field to maintain the integrity of sterility.

Preparing surgical instruments and supplies to provide for procedural needs efficiently and expeditiously.

Maintaining competency of skill to care for patients of all ages.
Grand View Health has 8 operating rooms conducting surgeries for General, Breast, Bariatric, Neuro, Vascular, Robotic, Breast, Gyn, Ortho, Hand, Eye and Colon.
On-Call: One weekend of on-call every seven weeks, two evenings per month to be on-call and two holidays per year.
