Grand View Health, in 2023, opened a state-of-the-art, six-story pavilion with helipad and trauma bays in the new Emergency Department. GVH is a Level II Trauma Center in collaboration with Penn Medicine.
We have availability for per diem Trauma/Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers, including both (adult/geriatric) CRNPs and PA-Cs. The Trauma APPs are employed by Grand View Health and will report to the Trauma surgeons and Trauma program manager.
The Trauma Medical Director is Dr. Dave Scaff from Penn Medicine, working solely at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA.
The APP will work within a team of skilled, experienced trauma surgeons and APPs to cover a 24/7 trauma and acute care surgery service line at our Level II Trauma Center at Grand View Hospital. The APP will deliver comprehensive patient care for the trauma and general surgery patient population throughout the inpatient care continuum, from emergency department and initial trauma bay resuscitation to the operating room, the ICU and the Med/Surg floor and through discharge.
The APP will perform patient assessments and coordinate patient management autonomously with physician collaboration and supervision, as appropriate.
The APP's scope of practice includes the following elements:
Direct patient care of new patients and daily patient census.
Initial assessment and management in Trauma resuscitations.
Assessment and management of critically ill surgical patients in the intensive care unit.
Coordination of care amongst the multidisciplinary team and subspecialty service lines.
Assessment and management of med/surg floor patients with appropriate coordination and execution of timely discharges.
Perform credentialed procedures independently, once procedural competency is verified.
First assist in operative cases and procedures, once proficiency is verified.
