Grand View Health, which includes Bucks County's first hospital, has provided residents of Bucks and Montgomery counties with comprehensive healthcare services since 1913. Now over a century strong, Grand View offers a range of inpatient and outpatient care, particularly emphasizing the areas of surgery and orthopedics, women's and children's health, heart and vascular care, and cancer treatment. Our colleagues enjoy the best of both worlds by working for a high-quality, low-cost healthcare provider in a collaborative, community environment. Help us build this new era of wellness and lead our community to a healthier future.
Grand View Health is pursuing Level II Trauma Center accreditation. The Trauma, Surgery and Surgical Critical Care Advanced Practitioners (APPs) function as clinical experts in the Acute Care Surgery Program (general surgery, trauma, surgical critical care) and work in tandem with acute care surgeons, who will staff the in-house trauma service 24/7/365. These APPs will function as the primary resuscitator in trauma activations under the supervision of the trauma surgeon. They will perform initial evaluations and resuscitative care in both the Trauma Bay and Emergency Department. Trauma APPs will provide bedside care as part of a multidisciplinary team across the entire care continuum from the Surgical Intensive Care Unit until discharge from the Med/Surg floor. They will work collaboratively with health professionals in coordinating and delivering patient care, facilitating communication between the patient, family, nursing staff and medical staff. The APPs perform a spectrum of bedside procedures within the scope of privileges within the ICU and Trauma Bay environs and assist the acute care surgeons when operative interventions are required. The Trauma, Surgery and Surgical Critical Care APP participates extensively in surveillance of care protocols, as well as all trauma performance improvement provider forums, to ensure quality patient care and best practice. Some in-house nocturnal and weekend coverage is required.
The Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and the Physician Assistant will be categorized as being on the Dependent Specified Professional Personnel Staff and will be subject to all definitions, privileges and responsibilities found in the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations pertaining to that category. These Advanced Practice Providers will assist in surgery under the direct supervision of the surgeon.
