The Manager provides leadership, direction and administration for the Med/Surg and Orthopedic Departments. The Manager is responsible for providing guidance in the areas of compliance, safety and quality and nursing practice. The Manager will oversee staff retention, education and competency and support the professional development of the staff. The Manager will develop and maintain a departmental budget, maintaining high patient satisfaction, acting as a liaison and facilitator between the Med/Surg and Ortho departments and other clinical areas of the hospital. The Manager will be looked upon to create and maintain a culture of nursing and service excellence for Med/Surg and Ortho.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides direction to department staff, which may include supervisors and clinical and clerical support staff.
  • Acts as leader and champion to new ideas that contribute to clinical excellence.
  • Monitors and analyzes performance of staff and departments. Utilizes daily management system to establish key measurements for department. Sets standards and develops goals to continuously meet or exceed standards.
  • Coaches, mentors and motivates staff in a positive and efficient manner to meet the department goals. Holds staff accountable, attaining objectives and other key job accountabilities.
  • Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.

Schedule: Day Shift




  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • One to three years of management experience required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Registered Nurse in PA – licensed, upon hire, required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
