EMS Outreach Manager - Emergency & Transport
Full Time - Varied. Some local travel.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Department of Trauma and Senior Director, the EMS Outreach Manager is responsible and accountable for communications and operations between Grand View Health and the EMS agencies that interact with the health system. The EMS Outreach Manager will support all EMS activities related to the trauma program, the Deparment of Emergency Medicine and all key service lines. The EMS Outreach Manager will be responsible for the coordination of follow-up to EMS agencies regarding trauma patient reviews and performance improvement issues. This individual is expected to have thorough knowledge of local, regional and state EMS regulations.

Essential Functions:
  • Acts as a liaison to local, regional and state EMS agencies, as well as the local EMS community.
  • Establishes connections with pre-hospital community and individual units and implements/coordinates quarterly meetings or programs to share data and discuss ideas, issues and concerns.
  • Coordinates in collaboration with others to hold events and educational programming for local EMS/fire departments.
  • Works in collaboration with GVH's Trauma leadership to review needs and develop plans for pre-hospital education and feedback.
  • Provides customer service responsibilities to EMS agencies, including researching lost equipment and investigating concerns addressed from pre-hospital providers.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities with EMS, DEM, Trauma Department and other service lines.
  • Participates with other professionals and departments in planning and implementing education programs offered to pre-hospital communities.
  • Oversees and collaborates with Trauma Program on EMS performance improvement activities with collaborative resolution to issues.
  • Meets with pre-hospital care providers on both a formal and informal basis to answer questions and provide feedback related to patient care.
  • Acts as a liaison with GVH, the Eastern PA EMS council and the Pennsylvania Department of Health to supply continuing education credits.
  • Represents GVH at community events with local EMS/fire departments.
  • Acts as a liaison to GVH's Emergency Management Coordinator to develop and improve the GVH Emergency Management Plan in response to disaster events.
  • Attends monthly Trauma Clinical Operations Committee meetings.
  • Assists the Injury Prevention Coordinator with coordination and delivery of injury prevention events/activities for the general public, community groups and pre-hospital providers.
  • Prepares and maintains written documentation of all activities as required for trauma program standards and other service lines.
  • Attends local and regional EMS meetings.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree and over 3 to 5 years of leadership or supervisory-related experience required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Paramedic, licensed upon hire, required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 2 weeks of hire required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 2 weeks of hire required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 2 weeks of hire required.
  • Completion of approved Emergency Vehicle Operators Course upon hire required.
