Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for patients served and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Registered Nurse practices professional nursing by utilizing the nursing process and adheres to standards set forth in the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania and Grand View Health policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Monitors and manages Coumadin for patients.
• Acts as liaison between Alderfer & Travis Cardiology physicians and primary care physician offices.
• Ensures physicians have information necessary to provide exceptional care.
• Greets, escorts and interviews patients and prepares exam rooms for physician.
• Reviews daily incoming office and ancillary study reports, enters into the EHR for physician reviews and follows up with office physician as necessary.
• Utilizes computer to gather information, review patient data and schedule appointments.
• Reviews medications and prescription requests, including notification of need for appointment.

• Nursing diploma minimum requirement.
• Associate's degree or BSN preferred.
• Over 6 months to 1 year of physician practice RN experience required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Registered Nurse in PA – licensed, upon hire, required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire preferred
