The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine. The Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status. The Registered Nurse (RN) must have a highly diverse skill set, develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. These duties must be performed under the general direction and guidelines of Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) standing orders, standards established through the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania, and Grand View Hospital policies and procedures.
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.

Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs.

Implementing clinical nursing interventions.

Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.

Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
Essential Functions:

Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team.
-
Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment.
-
Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.

Provides care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short stay to trauma.
-
Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice.
Grand View Health has 21 beds in the ER plus 2 Trauma bays. We see patient ranging in age from newborn to geriatric of all medical concerns, including STEMIs and acute stroke and trauma patients, as well as patients experiencing mental health emergencies.
Schedule: 4 out of 4 weekends, Saturday and Sunday, 7:00am-7:30pm. Special pay program including benefits.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Vocational diploma/nursing diploma minimum requirement.

Associate's degree and over 6 months to 1 year as an acute care Registered Nurse preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Registered Nurse in PA – licensed, upon hire, required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire required.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) upon hire preferred.

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) upon hire preferred.
