The Security Screener will be responsible for checking the temperatures (contactless) and asking screening questions of all patients, visitors, contractors and the general public upon arrival to the facility. Based on the screening, the Security Screener will follow organizational guidelines to determine if an individual is cleared to enter the facility and manage communications with hospital departments as needed. The essential functions of the Security Screener are:

Essential Functions:
  • Checks the temperatures (contactless) for patients, visitors, contractors and the general public upon arrival at the facility.
  • Asks screening questions with patience and clarity.
  • Follows organizational guidelines to determine if an individual is cleared to enter the facility.
  • Be able to give clear directions with tact and patience.
  • Manages communications with all hospital departments as needed.
  • Understands and makes decisions that align with the Grand View Health mission, values and strategic plan.
  • Demonstrates the values of Grand View Health: Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, Leadership, Excellence and Service.
  • Adheres to the Grand View Health Code of Conduct Policy.
  • Ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulations, organizational policies and accreditation and compliance regulations.
  • Complies with all HIPAA and privacy regulations.
  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk-mitigating measures where appropriate, and completes all safety-related competencies and requirements. Works safely by eliminating unnecessary risks by utilizing available equipment, procedures and resources.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Performs unrelated duties based upon operational needs in an emergency.

2:30pm-8:00pm, varying days available


  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team required.
