Central Service Technician, Certified
Full Time, Days - Sat, 12 hours; Sun, 12 hours; weekend call; 2 variable 8-hour shifts/week

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision, the Central Service Technician, Certified is responsible for collecting, processing, storing and delivering medical/surgical supplies and equipment. The Central Service Technician, Certified is responsible for the reprocessing of all sterile and non-sterile materials, instruments and equipment for surgery and other hospital units. They are responsible for manual cleaning and decontamination, operating the mechanical washers and sonic units, testing autoclaves for efficiency and maintaining compliant records. They assist in the recall process as needed.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Over 6 months to 1 year of hospital experience preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated analytical skills required.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Possesses familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required.
  • Understands decontamination and sterilization procedures.
  • Maintains records of sterility testing and work statistics required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • CRCST through HSPA or CBSPD, upon hire, required.
